If you are flying directly to Grand Rapids, you can take an Uber or airport taxi to Long Lake Outdoor Center (about 30 minutes). It is not necessary to rent a car, but you may wish to do so (or coordinate with someone who has one) if you’d like to enjoy other sites in the area or drive to a local shop. If you are flying into Detroit, you will need a car to make the 2+ hour trip to camp.
Ubers/rideshares are NOT readily available near camp to get around. To travel from Long Lake Outdoor Center back to the airport, we highly recommend scheduling a taxi (around $40) a few days in advance (Metro Cab airport taxi service ) -
